The collection features a large apparel range of over 70 sportswear pieces of relaxed and sharp tailored styles. A safari jacket, M65 field jacket, long modscoat, fringe drop top, mesh overlay skirt, broad-cut trench coat, chore coat, and pea coat are a few of the standout pieces featured in the lookbooks. The men’s color palette is limited to only beige, grey, white, and black, while the women’s drops in shades of magenta, turquoise, and gold for subtle color pops.

In our opinion, this spring/summer womenwear collection is one of the strongest presentations of the season, blowing the menswear’s offering away. The styled looks are beautifully layered and show great versatility for dressing up or down.

Company Overview

Designer Naoki Kurahashi was born in Shizuoka prefecture in 1981. While attending university, she worked as a sales associate for a select shop. Simultaneously, she was enrolled in a professional school social worker course where she studied patternmaking to understand the complexities and details that go into each individual garment. In March 2010, she decided to pursue a clothing line of her own in named THE RERACS with fellow director Kairo Kurahashi.

The label combines relaxed streetwear aesthetics with smart tailoring to create modern, versatile essentials that ooze supreme confidence and optimal comfortability. The brand only utilizes Japan’s finest textiles such as cashmere, melton wool, silks, and cottons through their bespoke-produced services.

Monochrome-heavy palettes allows the clothes to be sensibly worn for every and any occasion, while the designs are subtle and minimalist for the right added edge.

Although THE RERACS has a wide variety of distribution channels throughout Japanese retailers and boutiques, collections were unfortunately unavailable for purchase globally. This prompted the brand to establish a new partnership with D /ARK / CONCEPT /PARIS for global distribution in September 2016.
